Connect your calendar to vow.day

Link the calendar you already use and we'll block your booked dates on vow.day automatically, so couples only ask about dates you can take.

The one rule: add your weddings as all-day events. Every all-day event in the calendar you link blocks that date, so link a calendar that holds just your bookings. Timed events (like 12:00–23:00) don't block anything.

Google Calendar

Use the Connect Google Calendar button in your calendar tab, sign in to Google, then choose which calendar holds your bookings. There's no link to copy.

Outlook

Use Outlook on the web: outlook.cloud.microsoft for work or school accounts (outlook.office.com also works), or outlook.live.com for personal Hotmail, Outlook or Live accounts. It also works in the new Outlook for Windows.

  1. Select the gear icon (Settings), then Calendar → Shared calendars.
  2. Under Publish a calendar, choose your bookings calendar, then Can view when I'm busy.
  3. Select Publish.
  4. Copy the ICS link (not the HTML one).
  5. In your calendar tab, paste it under Linked calendars and select Add calendar.

Outlook's Publish a calendar settings: a calendar called Bookings is published with Can view when I'm busy, with Unpublish and Reset links buttons, and the ICS link row highlighted.

Using classic Outlook for Windows? Publish from Outlook on the web instead: same account, same calendar.

Can't see Publish a calendar, or it's greyed out? Your organisation may have turned calendar sharing off. Ask whoever manages your Microsoft 365.

Calendar not in the list? Refresh the page, and check it's under My calendars in the same account. Shared, group and subscribed calendars can't be published.

Apple iCloud Calendar

Anyone with the link can see this calendar

Apple's public link has no “busy only” option: anyone who has it can view the calendar. We suggest a separate calendar just for bookings (call it “Bookings”), with nothing private in it, and sharing that one.

On iPhone

  1. Open the Calendar app and tap Calendars.
  2. Tap the Info button (ⓘ) next to your bookings calendar.
  3. Turn on Public Calendar, then tap Share Link and copy it.

On a computer (Mac or Windows)

  1. Go to icloud.com/calendar and sign in.
  2. Next to your bookings calendar in the sidebar, select the share icon (the person in a circle).
  3. Turn on Public Calendar.
  4. Select Copy, then Save.

Apple's link starts with webcal://. Paste it exactly as it is — vow.day takes care of it.

Other booking tools (HoneyBook, Táve, Calendly, Acuity…)

Look in the tool's settings for iCal, ICS, subscribe or calendar feed, copy that link and paste it under Linked calendars.

  • Táve / VSCO Workspace: Settings → Calendar Settings → New Calendar Feed. Copy the link it gives you; don't open it in your browser.
  • Acuity Scheduling: Sync with other calendars → 1-way Calendar Sync, then copy the link at the bottom.
  • HoneyBook, Calendly, Studio Ninja, Dubsado: these sync into your Google, Outlook or iCloud calendar rather than giving you a link. Connect that calendar instead, using the steps above.

Can't find it? Email hello@vow.day with the name of your tool and we'll help.

No online calendar?

You can block dates yourself. In your calendar tab, tap a date or use Block dates to block a range. Updating it at least once a month keeps your profile showing “Recently updated”.

Troubleshooting

My dates aren't showing up yet

We check linked calendars every hour and Google Calendar every 6 hours. Tap Sync now to check straight away. Your calendar app can also take a while to update its link after you add an event. Still missing? Make sure it's an all-day event, in the calendar you linked.

The wrong day is blocked

We read dates in Irish time. A multi-day event blocks every day it covers, so check the event's start and end dates in your calendar. A single-day all-day event blocks just that day.

How do I disconnect or swap a link?

Linked calendars: tap Remove. That removes only the dates that calendar blocked; dates you blocked yourself stay. Then add the new link. Google: tap Disconnect.

My link stopped working

If you stopped publishing or sharing the calendar, or used Reset links in Outlook, the old link stops working. Copy the current link, remove the old one in vow.day and add the new one. The error under the calendar in your tab tells you what went wrong.

Privacy

  • Your calendar link is private. Don't post it anywhere else: anyone who has it can read the calendar.
  • vow.day only stores which dates are blocked. We don't keep event names, notes, locations or anyone's details.
  • Leaked a link? In Outlook, use Reset links (or Unpublish); in iCloud, turn off Public Calendar and Save, then turn it back on to get a new link. Then remove the old link from vow.day and add the new one.
